9:20 Tan Ky’s Old House.
We’ll go to Tan Ky’s old house. It is a 200-year-old Vietnamese merchant house with magnificent Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese architecture. The name Tan Ky, meaning “Progress Shop”, was given to the house by the second generation to express the owner’s wish for a prosperous business. Located at 101 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, in the Old Quarter of Hoi An Ancient Town, Tan Ky Old house is an almost perfect example of a 18th merchant’s residence in this major commercial port town. You will be explained how beautiful it is in Fengshui and the settings of this ancient house.
10:00 Phuc Kien Assembly Hall
We will continue our Hoi An Walking Tour by visiting the Fujian Assembly Hall (Phuc Kien Assembly Hall). It is a typical Chinese Assembly Hall where Chinese businessmen worship the Goddess Mazu, the sea mother who assists and rescues people in accidents on the sea. In the Chinese community, Phuc Kien Assembly Hall is a very important business club.
10:20 Hoi An Lantern-making Class
Following the beautiful Chinese clubhouse, we will go to the local handicraft space to learn how to make Hoi An lanterns. The locals will show you how to make the traditional Hoi An lantern. You will keep the beautiful lanterns you made as a souvenir.
11:20 Hoi An Market
Lastly, we’ll visit the Hoi An market. It is the largest market in Hoi An’s ancient town.He/she will show and explain how the locals sell and buy things, as well as how to bargain.
12:00 Hoi An Amazing Food Tour
The tour guide will then introduce you to Hoi An cuisine, and you will have the opportunity to sample some of the city’s most famous dishes. You will enjoy four traditional dishes that can be found nowhere else but in this ancient city.
